Frequently asked questions
What types of training will be done at the Olympic Regional Training Center?
We will offer freestyle, greco and collegiate style training at the facility that will include beginner, intermediate, and advance training sessions. Cal Poly wrestlers will be hired as club coaches, in addition to a full-time head club coach, for all levels and styles.
Where is the current Facility for Sports Club practice?
The Central Coast RTC is located at the former Tribune Building at 3825 S Higuera St, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.
Please see the home page for practice schedule updates.
What is the monthly fundraising goal?
In order to make the Central Coast RTC a reality, we need to raise $15,000 in monthly recurring commitments for the term of the 3-year lease.
Is the Olympic Regional Training Center only for advanced wrestlers?
No. The RTC and Sports Club will allow us to integrate all levels of wrestling, including Division I college, community college, high school, middle school, and youth level student-athletes in our community. It will be the space for Central Coast wrestlers to train together year-round under one roof.
What is the difference between a Sponsorship and Membership?
A sponsorship will provide the necessary revenue to open and run the Training Center. For every 100/monthly gift, you will sponsor one student-athlete to train at the Training Center.
A membership includes access to 2 weekly 2-hour practices, every other Saturday practice, and a 10% discount on camps and clinics.
Will there be a possibility of private lessons?
Yes. Various private lessons, camps, and clinics will be held on-site and available to founding members at a discounted rate.
What will my investment purchase for the Olympic Regional Training Center?
We will need to invest in the following equipment before our grand opening scheduled for August 1, 2021. Your sponsorship of the project will go directly to these purchases, as well as maintenance of the facility:

- USA Wrestling signage – 20k
- Wall padding – 15k
- Apparel – 10k
- HVAC – 10k

Will there be a coach onsite at all times?
Yes. There will be an elite level coach that will be hired and designated to the training and development of this facility, club practices, and club competition. As you may be aware, we are targeting 3X World Champion Lee Kemp as one of our Resident Club and RTC coaches.
